Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid on an initial loan with option to buy.
According to Sky Sports News, Chelsea, Atletico and the player reached a total agreement for the transfer to go through on Tuesday night, August 31, and are working hard to make sure a deal is done by the 11pm deadline.
Chelsea will pay a £3.4m (€4m) loan fee and will have the option to buy the Spain international for £30m (€35m) next summer.
The 26-year-old Spanish midfielder who was part of Diego Simeone’s title-winning side last season at Atletico, has made more than 300 appearances for Atletico since breaking into the first team as a 17-year-old in 2012.
