Manchester United have unveiled French defender, Raphael Varane.
The former Real Madrid star was unveiled before the kickoff of their Premier League opener against Leeds United at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The World Cup winner displayed his number 19 jersey to applause from the fans.
The 28-year-old had attracted interest from Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain before his move to the Red Devils.
Ole Gunnar Solskajer, United coach, had revealed in a press conference on Friday that the deal to sign the defender was done but quarantine due to COVID-19 protocols delayed the announcement.
“It’s not 100% done and I can say he probably won’t be [available against Leeds] because he has not trained with us,” he said.
“It always happens that there are little things. The big hold up was the isolation and quarantine. He has been in Manchester now and hopefully, it’ll be done soon.”
The defender is believed to have been bought for £34m.
