The Premier League is hopeful that the 11 players FIFA has banned from playing this weekend, will be allowed to take to the field, according to SportsMail.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea are the hardest hit following a backlash from South American countries.

Brazil in particular, have attempted to take revenge after top flight clubs prevented their players from travelling to red list countries for the recent World Cup qualifying fixtures.

As a result, FIFA invoked a ‘five-day’ restriction on those involved.

Those affected include Liverpool trio Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino, Leeds’s Raphinha, City’s Ederson and Gabriel Jesus, Chelsea’s Thiago Silva and Manchester United’s Fred.

However, Premier League chief executive Richard Masters, has today written to clubs and suggested a resolution is in sight.

Master revealed four national associations complained to FIFA, but they are in talks with both the governing body, the government and the Football Association.

A final decision is expected by tomorrow morning at the latest.
