The Evening Standard informs that Manchester United will be giving Jadon Sancho the No.7 jersey, in a attempt to pesuade him to join this summer.
The Red Devils are believed to be leading the race to sign Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record fee.
United believed they were close to a deal at the end of last season, but their failure to qualify for the Champions League saw the move collapse.
However, they will try again for the England winger ahead of next season.
Alexis Sanchez currently wears the shirt, but the club hope to move him on this summer.
Even if they fail to sell him, it is believed Sanchez will be stripped of the shirt number.
