Chelsea thinks of signing an experienced defender of Bayern Munich

Chelsea has been largely linked to signing attacking players and has already agreed to sign two in the form of Ajax’s Hakim Ziyech and RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner.

There hasn’t been a lot of talk about bringing in defensemen, and that’s shocking when you know how bad Chelsea’s defense has been this season at times.

They scored another dumb goal against Aston Villa on their first game back after last weekend’s lockout, which reinforced that they would need to look back at adding another center.

Yesterday it was revealed that they were actually doing this.

Chelsea has discussed the prospect of recruiting David Alaba from Bayern Munich in recent months but has been given short shrift, according to The Athletic.

The 28-year-old Austrian international could bring experience and versatility to the squad of Frank Lampard, and if they could pull it off, it would be seen as a very intelligent signing for The Blues.
